Racist was just an easier word to type rather then religious discriminator. I know all about Obama's plans and like I said I am not a supporter in any way shape of form...but sometimes posts come across as being derogatory when maybe the poster didn't mean it that way. I personally don't give a shit about the race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, hell my next president could have sex with sheep as long as he has this countries best interest in mind and spends his days in office making my family safer and my life tolerable!!

I will second another poster's sentiment about not focusing on a candidate's religion. I couldn't care less if our President were a Muslim, a Catholic, a Buddhist, or a Mormon. I really don't care if they are agnostic or even an Atheist. I do not want my rights infringed upon though and too many on the Left want to take our guns and our god from us. Who ever your god is you have the right to worship as you see fit . . . as long as you are not a Christian because we don't want our children accidentally exposed to Christian prayer. There are plenty of legit reasons to hope and pray that Obama is NEVER elected to a national office. If he looses badly enough he may limp back to IL and hid his head. Or at least we can hope.

Not that you asked, but I'd suggest something along the lines of a cost/benefit analysis:

If Obama wins and we're right, you have no guns or money left, the churches of the US will be gone, and so on.

If McCain wins and the left is correct, you'll have little money left, and the planet will be warmer and blah blah blah but you'll have guns.

Personally, I know that I'm better off with a weapon.

So, I'm voting McCain.

At the very least you could vote third party. If you really can't vote for Obama or McCain you can vote for a third party candidate to show your support for what you believe in. My personal stance mirrors VMJade's in that I can only see one of the two winning and a vote for a third party would be a vote with little impact other than making a point. I mean it will not get a third party candidate elected. I just can't imagine anything circumstance where Marxism will be good for this country. As the left has slid further left the right has gone left and we are left with nobody on the right. AHHHHHHH! Where are the conservatives who want smaller government with power coming from the PEOPLE?

Sorry.

This is me getting off my soap-box.

Well put, except for one minor point- A third party vote is a lot like telling a criminal what he did was wrong and letting him go. Yup, you've done what your conscience tells you to- but he's going to rob somebody else, and when he does, you'll know that you and others who have done the same thing could have prevented it, but didn't.

Personally, I don't want that on my conscience. So, I'll hold my nose and vote Republican.

I couldn't figure out how to express how I felt about third party voting. I think you nailed it though.

Thanks much =) It's an argument I've had a few times too many, unfortunately.

I was against third party voting for a long time, before I realized constantly voting for Democrats and Republicans isn't going to change anything, no matter who the candidate is. Its all the same crap they preach every election year. Voting for a third party isn't "throwing your vote away." Sure, the third party candidate is extremely unlikely to win, but if s/he gets 5-10% of the popular vote, it might make politicians take notice. Nothing changes by continuing with the status quo. Only through action will change occur.

As my calendar states, "Just because you've always done it that doesn't mean its not incredibly stupid."
