The NAZI era of Germany in WW2 is part of the human history of this planet. It is what it is, or rather what it was, and to hide from it, or rewrite it to fit some PC agenda, or taking it out of context is just plain wrong IMHO.
Like it or not, certain aspects of the NAZI war machine and the technological innovations the Allies developed as countermeasures took the human race a quantum leap forward in technology. It's part of the planet's heritage. There is no right or wrong in that. It is what it is, warts and all.

Why not be proud?
I read "The Arms of Krupp" and have it somewhere...great book. The Krupp family goes back over 500 years of Arms and steel making. The processes for steelmaking Krupp developed and perfected were mostly during the late 1800's and led to a lot of peaceful uses also. Railroads were Krupps bread and butter besides the arms industry. It is not like Krupp was the only company making guns for the Nazi's, you aren't responsible, be proud of your heritage.

Just my two cents but you should only be proud or ashamed of your own actions. Being Hitler's son would not make you a monster and being the Pope's son would not make you a saint.

i agree i remember a saying i heard a while back, unsure where i heard it though. "you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your relatives" everyone has one or more branches in the family tree that they would like to prune out if they could ( you should meet my brother-in-law).

I'm related to a saint on one side of the family tree......
...... Shame that didn't really rub off We like to joke that he is the patron saint of Well Endowed Men, just so we can claim we were touched by his presence. http://spazioinwind.libero.it/grotto...lese/saint.htm
