Anyone out there "in the know" abut this topic? I've grown weary of internet commandos who condemn this practice but have no experience to back it up.
I've spoken face to face with a few folks who have been doing this for years without any problems - they just emphasize thoroughly cleaning the bore with a quality solvent after a range session. Thx. |

There's a interesting tidbit in Wikipedia's article on polygonal rifling that attempts to shed some light on this. If what the article is saying is true, you'll probably be OK as long as you're dilligent about keeping your barrel "so clean and sanitary that the Virgin Mary herself would honored to pop off a few rounds."
