Default Does PA Game commission have auctions?

Just wondering if the Pennsylvania Game Commission has auctions on firearms confiscated from individuals from the year. Is there a link to auction times and locations or county sales. I've seen other states have information online, but I seem to not be able to find any information online for Pennsylvania. If you guys can fill me in I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Barry

Even though this isn't a hunting question per se, people who are involved in hunting in PA might know the answer. So, I'm going to move this to the hunting forum.

The state of PA does auction non firearms on ebay, some one once mentionned it here, there where many knives and cork screws, they probably have an outlet place for guns as well. Just a matter of finding it, or then again, knowing the govt types, they probably dont make it to auctions, just take them home or some thing.

Just wondering, cause if would be a good way to buy a cheap gun for your kid or for buying something that would work for groundhogs when your mowing hay down. Just curious..

I know some police departments are being investigated because they sold confiscated firearms. The proceeds are suppose to go back to the township or local goverment, but it seems that the police departments are pocketing the funds. I haven't heard of the PGC offering any firearms, but it might be worth a call to your local PGC Officer.

Reading your title, I thought you wanted to bid on some road kill.

I find to hard to believe that a firearm would ever be seen again after going into the hands of a government agency. I would GUESS that they get destroyed.

What they used to do in Clearfield, Jefferson and Elk Counties(not sure if they still do) is:

Firearms that were taken due to violations would be handed over to the Sheriff of the county in which the violation occurred. The Sheriff would then auction it off at its yearly Sheriff's Auction, along with other items and properties(lands, houses, etc).

Since most violations that allowed the confiscation of a firearm by a Possom Cop were offenses that could be heard in court, by default the Sheriff would receive the item due to PA Law and English Common Law(Sheriff is tax, levy and fines collector).
