Youth, ages 9 to 11 can hunt squirels, spring gobbler and something else. check out pa game commision site on mentored youth hunt. An adult must accompany the youth, the adult does not need a license.

chake, can i recommend that you take the hunters safety course with your son?

aside from the obvious bonding experience, it will be great for you to know what your son is getting into, additionally, you could help to remind him of proper safety procedures, give him a little reminder before he walks out the door to hunt, and be able to relate better to the stories he has to tell.
