I haven't hunted small game or big game for over 20 years. I was thinking of getting a license for both for some exersize.
Anyway, I googled my question and came up with 3 rounds are allowed for small game but I can't find the answer for big game. I seem to remember it is 5 rounds. Is this correct?

fairly certain 5 total between chambered and magazine. One reference is to the loss of use of hand or amputee ruling that allows a semi only in those instances, but only with 5 total rounds.
(2) Any automatic or semiautomatic firearm, except that any semiautomatic firearm modified to permit one shell in the chamber and no more than four shells in a magazine may be used by a person who suffered an amputation or lost the total use of one or both hands. Which is annoying, since individuals that require this THEN required modified magainze(s) in many cases. |

Date: Mon, 25 Aug 2008 12:35:55 -0400 There isn't a round limit for magazine, but it must be a manually-operated firearm. -----Original Message----- From: Lucas B [mailto:dredly@ptd.net] Sent: Monday, August 25, 2008 12:32 PM To: GM, Comments Subject: Round limit for Deer / Elk / Bear? Good Morning, I am looking for the Round limit for hunting White Tail, Elk, and Bear. I've looked through the digest and can only find a round limit (3) for small game and turkey. Is there a round limit and if so what is the limit? Is it still in the digest somewhere? Thank You

There is no round limit for big game. Whatever the gun can hold.

^ What he said. The PGC used to call it " Magazine Capacity". I love that term.

Thanks for your help everyone. I googled for the answer but could only find manually operated firearm. So the answer is "there is no limit".

Yep, no limit, so if say all you have is a shotgun, after small game season you can remove the plug and allow the gun to be fully loaded. Just remember to reinstall the plug before the next small game hunt.....
