Default .270 HUNTING ROUNDS

I just picked up a Ruger 270 with a 20 in bbl and was wondering what grain and type of round i should use. I had a Savage with that stupid accu trigger in 270 last year and the Federal ballistic tip 140 grain shot horrible. Any ideas would be great so i dont order the wrong ammo again. by the way i dont reload at all.

Don't be taken in by all the premiun ammo get regular 130gr try core-lokt and if it's not good in your rifle try power-point or hi-shok, thatpremium stuff is just a sales gimick unless you are going for BIG game, not deer or black bear.

Out of a 20 inch bbl you won't get velocities close to what is advertised for a .270 which has a lot of powder to burn in a small bore and needs a longer bbl to get good velocities.

Check your local Boscovs for Remington Core Lokt .270. They are apparently selling all their ammo, hunting supplies at 30% off. I wiped them out of .308
