Default Can't wait for the season to open!

Yeah, I know - the summer's great and all that. But.....this weekend I saw a couple of things that got me pining for colder weather:

1. IMMACULATE 8-point buck at the end of my driveway. Antlers still in velvet but completely symmetrical. Looked ALMOST too good to shoot...

2. Bird feeder torn down (it's 8 feet off the ground) and a truly eye-wateringly large pile of bear crap next to it. Has to be a big one, and since he knocked down the feeder now it's personal!

I made the mistake of telling Mr Browning A-Bolt about what I'd seen and somehow he's compelling me to take him down to the range.

I feel ya man! I have been seeing great bucks across the street from my girls house. I can't hunt in those woods, but man are these bucks nice!

Good luck avenging your bird feeder! And don't neglect your rifle, it demands to be shot!

Wow! Great to hear there's a buck left in Pike County. They're makin' a comeback! LOL
Just bustin' on ya' Scally. Spent 30+ deer seasons in the woods of Pike,so far. Got a couple of beauties hangin' on the wall. Seen some good years and some not so good years. Lately, well....... there's room for improvement.

Yeah, first one I've seen in a while. Saw a whole bunch of spikes last season, though, so maybe this year it'll come good!
The one I saw is destined for my wall, no question about it.
(and the bear will make a nice rug)

Good hunting to you too, sir

I have been seeing a fair amount of does, but no bucks lately.

After a second back surgery last August I didn't get to hunt in bow season. This year I have been practicing out to 30 yards so the 15 yard shots I like are easier.

I'm looking forward to the start of the hunting season. I was hoping to get back into archery this year (haven't archery hunted for several years), but things didn't work out.

I'm just looking forward to getting out into the woods for small game, turkey, bear and deer.

Good luck & safe hunting to all...

As usual, I'm looking forward to those three days before Thanksgiving. It's sort of magical for me. I hunt Lynn Run with my brothers and father. Those thick, dark pine groves just give me chills thinking about walking them in heavy snow. Been walking there for years, through great times and bad times... I guess, that's what it's all about.
