Default woah, the rat shot works!

Found the dead rat from the other night, and got a big one tonight. The rats make the mistake of running behind the nest boxes, and this one was there tonight and was even nice enough to wait for me to rack the slide then just sit there for me to point shoot at it. The slide actually cycled part way this time, but the casing stovepiped.

Obama needs to see this- handguns used for hunting LOL

Also this is one of the fox targets I made the other day. It is approx lifesize. Please excuse my eratic shooting LOL. Approx 8 yards distance. Also with the XD9 sub.

I hope you're one of the ethical hunters who eats what they kill.

Yes the rats get to living under the coops from time to time. I normally use rat poison, but being it is the Chinese year of the rat, I thought I would kill them more humanely. Plus they die under the sheds with the poison and stink everything up, and I hate that. I also caught 24 or so in a bodygripping set up muskrat trap ( just an old 1.5 Victor longspring- big enough jawspread to body grip them around the chest and neck). I unlucky rat got stuck in some twisted chicken wire and I wacked it and then broke its neck with a shovel. There's still some more out there, if lucky only a few more.

I think like you said...relocating a nice black snake to under your coop would work wonders....if it would stay there.
