Default Muzzle loading in PA

I am trying to move to PA, and I have a question about muzzle loading in PA. I have a T/C Omega, it use a 209 shotgun primer. Is PA a flintlock only state, I have been searching around the game laws but have not found a clear answer. I may not be looking in the right spot. All answers and help appreciated.

thanks,

Mike

During the normal deer hunting season you can use your inline... but there a seperate flintlock only season... and then of course it is like it says... flintlock only.

Here is a site that can maybe answer all your questions.....

GOOD LUCK

There's an antlerless muzzleloader season in October that you may use an inline gun for and there is a flint-lock only season in December & January.

Both posts above are correct. Assuming you want to hunt deer. Your Inline is legal for use in the general/rifle deer season and it is also legal for use in the early muzzleloading season in Mid-October. Outside of that you can use it when you want providing it is not Flintlock ONLY Season. (Late Dec. - Early Jan.) There are also some local laws depending on where you are moving that may benefit you or hurt you though, so I would try to aquire a game laws handbook to check out all the regulations that apply to you.

Good Luck in Pa.

By the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUM.....

I forgot to ask if you were interested in bear hunting... muzzleloaders are allowed for that hunting also....

I hunt and fish with a PAGC Hunters Ed instructor. The word on the street is that PA is going to try to have a single "muzzleloader" season this year which is anything that isn't a cartridge arm. So your muzzleloader inline and my muzzleloader flintlock would fall under this season.

Grain of salt warning here, I was told this while fishing, so it's a fish story.

If i was going bear hunting I would want something a tad easier to make follow up shots with...
