Default Bow Hunting question

I understand that if you are convicted of a felony there is no way to use a firearm and hunt. Can a person with a felony get a bow hunting license or is that banned also?

bows are not firearms, and therefore are not regulated as such.

the only thing to stop you is if there is a restriction on the licence itself, and afaik, there is none.

I am unaware of any law preventing a felon from obtaining a hunting license.
We'll have to wait and see what others have to say on that matter

Bows and Blackpowder guns are not considered firearms. Inline, flintlock, or percussion cap.

Actually, black powder firearms are considered firearms for the purpose of prohibited persons.

Prohibited persons can NOT own black powder or muzzleloading arms.

I knew after I posted that you or Knight were gonna bust me.

Anyway if a prohibited individual can't own black powder no one must care much (unless they get caught) since there is no background check involved to purchase one. Not that I am recommending anyone break the law.

I do know of someone that can’t buy a legal firearm. I don’t know why, but he is forever buying black powder guns, broken guns and repairing them, and various guns on the sly.

Thanks for the info. I thought bow hunting would be OK but nothing considered a firearm.
