Default WHAT no to do when sighting in a rifle

With rifle hunting season coming in the near future and a lot of hunter will be out sighting in their new rifles or checking the zero of their hunting rifles.

I ran across this on another site and figured that this post might needed here also.

This is what happens when you forget to remove the bore sighter.

Hopefully the person was not injured. It only takes one stupid moment to injure yourself.

This is a link to Michael Bane's blog (thanks again CR) about this particular incident. At the bottom of his post, you'll see some of the responses. A couple of them are from people who were at the range that day.

The guy that did this should probably get a stupid medal.

Not to mention his wallet. That looked like it was a very nice rifle before he blew it up.
