Ugh!. Called Taurus today. The parts are on backorder. So much for not having to wait on Brazil. I asked if they could send my parts back so I could use them in the meantime, but was told they are not retained. Guess I'll be without my 1911 for a couple of more weeks at least.

They are replacing the parts no questions asked. Yeah, it's going to take a little while. That's a bit of a bummer, but not enough for me to condemn their CS. They were nothing but courteous and helpful on the phone, and I never had to wait more than three or four rings to speak to a representative. I may change my mind later, but for now I'll wait and see.

That is just it they never have parts, or you shit will come back all fucked up. I hope not and Taruaus has turned around. I will be keeping an eye on this one. Hoping that they finally got their shit together.

I like the option to buy the new parts, with a full refund after I send in the old parts. That way there is no jerking me around... I have the parts till they get me the new ones, and I have the option to keep the old ones as spares are get a refund.

There is no such thing as customer service any more.. its just to what degree you will get screwed.

If the manufacturer was forced to pay for shipping on everything they would think twice about the expense of jerking a customer around with the parts swap game.

Also, I think there are time limits on how long you can be forced to wait for repair parts. I am not 100% sure, but after some time you do have recourse. They cannot 'backorder' you forever.

I called them today. They say the parts are in and I should receive them in 7-10 days.

After some confusion with the shipping (FedEx screw up on the address, apparently), I have the parts. They sent the barrel assembly and bushing, but the bushing was blued instead of stainless. They are sending out another bushing, but at least my 1911 is back in service in the meantime.

Did you just send in the barrel and bushing? If so who is going to fit them to the gun?
