I don't know anything about the online or correspondence kind of classes.

Rodger41 Check out glock they have an armors school that you can take in 1 or 2 days, they have these scheduled quite often, i love it and it would be a good start. Good luck Mtn Jack

There is a very good online course for 1911's, very expensive. I think it is run through Gunsite.
