If you are interested in building a lightweight (~5 pounds) AR, you will likely want to use a polymer lower. One of the (only?) manufacturers of polymer lowers was raided by the Feds this week - read about it in this thread. So far nobody has been arrested, but all their inventory was seized. There is a distributor who is trying to help them out by offering new lowers with all proceeds going to Cav Arms. Here is the link to the Cav lower being offered.
Bottom line is it's a good deal on a polymer lower, and if they succeed in driving the company out of business it's one less option for building an AR. Put one together with a pencil barrel upper and have fun! (Especially if a certain company in Texas comes through with a .22LR conversion) |
