Need some help installing Tapco handguard rail on AR15

I ordered one of the Tapco handguard rails that mount on the stock plastic handguard of the AR15 so I could mount a vertical grip, and It doesn't seem to fit. The length perfectly matches the handguard, but the holes don't want to seem to line up to where I screw it on. I can get one side mounted but then all the other holes don't line up with the holes on the handguard. I ordered another companies before this one, and that one also doesn't seem to line up. Any insight from someone who has installed one of these would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know what to tell you, but i can say that i have 2 of these rails in my parts box from a friend who had the exact same problem. so its not just you.
