Default Can a left handed AR upper be placed onto a regular lower?

A buddy at work wants an ARXV, and he shoots left handed. Sigarms has lefty's but he wants to buy an upper and assemble the rest himself. Does he need a special lower or what?

eightshot627 is on a distinguished road
Default Yes

Same lower.

Just push the pins out and put the lefty upper on and go.

The left ejecting upper should attach ok but the lower's controls will still be on the wrong sides so to speak.

Check out Stag arms they make full left handed versions. The difference in the lowers is the selector switch is an ambi version. The mag button is on the right side. You can purchase stripped lowers and stripped uppers from them. Watch out for DPMS they sell left handed versions but they are not true left handed versions.
