Polock, they're basically the same thing aside from the reciever shape and location of the safety. In the pic of the two pumps I posted on page one the top one is a Stevens 520.

Archie--Thanx for the info. One of these days I will find a way to get mine working. Really like the old ones, esp anything that says "Brownings Patent"!!
Even my old Westernfield has nice walnut/checkering/blue for what was a 'cheap' gun when it was made.

Sorry for the long delay, been on vacation. The ISBN # is 0-89145-434-9 And also says "Collector Books" A division of Schroeder Publishing Co., Inc. Hope this helps. Hiya Polock. blackwolf67--I believe 'Westernfield' was the house name for guns sold by Montgomery Ward (or monkey ward, to us old guys). Western Auto also sold guns under their trade name, but I forgot what is was--all similar to 'JC Higgins' as the Sears brand name for their guns/shooting/hunting equipment.
While I haven't gotten my gun working yet, I have high hopes for a guy I met who actually knows how/is willing to work on my old gun (owes me a favor)!! Good Shooting!! Polock

Hi Polock! When you say your gun has the same problem, are you referring to the same problem as my gun is having? Jamming and not retracting the spent shell from the chamber? Yeah, if you do find out about where to find that spring, definitely let me know. Thanks! Thanks to all of you who posted on this thread so far!
