My new colt .38 super

Very snappy looking.

Love the gun, hate the round. I learned to hate the .38 Super from when I was doing IPSC style shooting. They seem sooo much louder than everything else.

I like the round but its hard trying to find it anywhere around here...small town=not a lot of ammo choices

Beatiful piece! Lots of success with it!

.38 Super was a favorite caliber in countries where it was forbidden for civilians to own firearms in military calibers. But one of the raps against the Super was with its system of headspacing, this was supposed to have been solved when Bar-sto brought out a barrel that allowed the cartridge to headspace on the case mouth (like most semi-auto pistol rounds do). Do you know if your pistol has the "improved" barrel?

i had read up on previous problems with the .38 super....im not sure if the barrel ws improved or not...something for me to look into

Back when Brick and I were kids this was a concern. The gun companies solved the headspace problem several years ago(don't remember how long ago). I think all guns after 1980 headspace off the mouth. Our 38 Supers shoot fine, accuracy and function. Enjoy your Super.

Thanks for the info...do you buy your shells or reload your own?
