Default My M1a1

Here's a picture I took of my M1a1 after I picked it up a few weeks ago.

Yes, it's almost all Inland. There are a few parts though that aren't, the barrel band, front sight, and handguard. So one of these days I'll have to swap them out for correct ones.

That is seriously cool. I love vintage firearms.
Nice pick up. Is that a 7.62?

.30 carbine

That's totally sweet!

I got a few oldies, but not enough. I would love to get my hands on a garand, and an old 1911.

It was a tough choice between 3 Garands and 3-4K of ammo from the CMP, a Remington-Rand 1911, or a M1a1. I decided to go with the M1a1 because it's the most rare. In the end I probably paid a bit more than I should have for it, but I'm happy with the condition it's in and it'll only go up in value.

It even shoots pretty well at 100 yds with Wolf ammo.

Common mistake. Most people think that the M1a1 is the same thing as an M1a, which Springfield Armory uses as their designation for their semi-auto M-14s, which is indeed 7.62.

I should have known. My uncle has a Inland M1 carbine .30 as well, but with full wood stock and crossed cannons on the butt.
I just shot it two days ago.
Very nice rifle, and a helluva alot of fun to shoot.
The folding stock threw me off, that is called the paratrooper, correct?
Yours it very beautiful.
Good luck with it, and have fun

Correct, it is more commonly referred to as the paratrooper model.
