I think he flinched a bit before that second shot with the Mosin, although a lot less than I would have. My son is 15 months old, I already can't wait to take him shooting some day. Thanks for the vid.

Take those kids shooting! They'll run the world when we're wheelchair-bound, and they'll use the values we taught them.

Here's my daughter shooting recently:

Way too much fun! And I know what he will be talking about in school!
If I may be so bold, I am grateful that you are taking him shooting, It is the right thing to do, BUT,,, at this age it would also be good to teach him to NEVER have the finger on the trigger until he is ready to pull it.
I wish my dad took me shooting,,, He was front line in the Korean war and didnt want anything to do with guns when I was a kid,,,
Hope I didnt offend, AT such a great vunerable age he can go really far!
Hats off to you for taking him out shooting!
Peter.

Absolutely! In fact, you can hear me preaching to him in this vid with the Carcano: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxjO-Gr5Acg

One thing I noticed is that sometimes it looks like he is putting it on the trigger but what he is doing is putting one of his tiny fingers up on the trigger guard. Since they are short, sometimes they appear to be there when they are not. Secondly, I noticed the when he is ready to shoot, he uses two fingers since the pull is pretty strong on some of these. Either way, I have been instructing him on doing it properly and I have zero problems with anyone giving out suggestions so thank you. It's what we are all here for.

When I was little, I got to take about 3 shots with the .30-30 an muzzel loader before hunting season. I wasn't too good of a shot back then because I had no experience.
