Default Why I let my NRA membership expire for a month always.

Ok, this might sound dumb, but I always go for the 1 year subscription and I always wait a few weeks or a month after I expire to renew. The reason is simple if you didnt know, they always send out a few reminders then you'll get one for 10 bucks off and a free gift, this year it's a really nice rosewood folder. I wont always do this, but being on a college budget it helps, when I start making the big money I actually plan on becoming a life member and supporting even more organizations even this great one your on right now. I plan on having them as my next donation when I save up the money.

heres a link that shows the nice folder https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/s...ampaignID=6205

Unhappy Re: Why I let my NRA membership expire for a month always.

I have been a member for thirty years or so and never had any offers because I pay promptly. Apparantly the NRA penalizes people like me to keep slow paying members by offering incentives. Just signed up for 2 years {first time} and saved 10 bucks. But I am not as wise as you although I should be.

Personally I'd want them to have the extra 10 bucks and use it to preserve our right to bear arms. But you make an interesting point. I could just donate the extra 10 bucks to a non-comprimise organization like JPFO.

Shame on you,
I am a Benefactor member of the NRA. Have been a member of the NRA for 45years. I have never taken advantage of any offers from them. I am even opposed to all of the mailings they send out. Costs too much in postage and paper. Better to use that money for other purposes. You want to let your membership lapse, fine, don't expect anything in return.
Finished with my rant.
Jeff

I never received any thing from them. When I signed up for the first time a few years ago, and then when I let my subscription lapse last year and the resigned up.

I want one of those bullet keychains. They are sweeeeet!

I'm going to take a swing that your not a poor college student right? It's hard for me at this time to justify paying out more money than I have to. The NRA also doesnt have a setup to dontate what you can.

Like I said in my first post, when I start making the big bucks, I plan on giving them the 750 hands down for a life membership.

Don't take this the wrong way, new friend...
We can afford what we want to afford.

I certainly understand the money thing, it's been rough for me lately. I need to renew my membership as well and this post has reminded me to do so. $25 or $35... Not sure what I'll send either yet, the most important thing is to renew!
You could also consider using the $10 you "saved" to join/donate to another pro-gun group.

PAFOA would be a good place to start!
So far, my contribution to the PAFOA has been pretty small, but I feel that I've learned more from this forum for "free" than I could have by buying many books at the bookstore. Also, without this forum, I wouldn't have "met" so many new friends both in person and online. That alone is worth more than the price of a membership in ANY organization.

Lets put it like this, I cant even afford to buy beer right now. I actually have to plan all my spending, at this point with my paycheck for example, I'm planning on getting an IWB holster, and putting $25.00 for my permit, it should hopefully be coming in soon.

Next pay I'm hoping on saving another $25.00 for a donation here, and putting away money for my cpr cert

Lifetime membership was one of the best birthday gifts I ever got. I still donate from time to time - but then again I'm 'growed up' with a job and all.

Skuggi, Gotta tell ya, I signed up for a life membership while still in college. Worked for the money and did without (read beer).
Put the money in the membership instead of the permit. You have priorities mixed up. If it wasn't for the NRA and other pro-gun organizations you wouldn't even be talking about a permit.
Sorry, no tears from me.
