no card, nothing. certainly made a show though... my neighbor called to me while I was walking the dog, saying how the Constable came back and was pounding on the door so loud everyone was looking at him.

me, I was down at the hardware store buying some bug spray for the damned horde of box-elder bugs.

Just a tip, but its not really unheard of for people with even minor traffic warrants to go to the magistrate to take care of things and after having the court clerk see your wanted they give ya the ole have a seat while I look into it and they call in a constable to arrest you. I'd handle it all on the phone/mail until court date is set(if it goes that far).

As for just having the constable understand, and agree to just let ya off if you say your gonna straighten it out-- not gonna happen. He used his gas, is on his own time and isn't gonna get paid for anything unless your arrested or the fee is paid to him on the spot so you can assume how it'll go.

good luck and keep us updated.

Maybe this will help you find the constable who came knocking. Just fill in your county name and all current constables come up:

PA Constable Search

ETA: Well, maybe not! 25 listed for Northampton Co.

ok, I called several magistrates, and they have nothing. the magistrate who I thought the ticket was about said they have nothing, noting that the status is paid, case closed.

so what else would a constable be here for? I know with absolute certainty I have broken no law, am paying my bills, taxes, insurance. Haven't gotten into any altercations, stolen anything...

my home is clean, yard mowed and land-mine free, dog doesn't bark, etc etc etc.

what else do they do besides serve warrants, transport prisoners, and provide court security?

Maybe they heard you have guns and want to set up a ZRT base at your house?

There's a website where you can check the status of any court case or citation in PA.

http://ujsportal.pacourts.us/

Go to the "E-services" tab, then select "Public Web Docket Sheets," then select "Magisterial District Courts."

Look up your citation, and print it out if it shows that it's been paid and the case is closed. Hold onto this, and present it to the Constable if he manages to nab you.

looked up everything for both Lehigh and Northampton counties... nada.

left a post-it note on the door addressed to the constable with my cell phone #... no calls so far.

maybe he had the wrong person/address?

thanks to everyone for their inputs.

I actually had the constable come to my house once over a speeding ticket i forgot about. Banging like i murdered someone, but it turned out he was really nice. He said he was there to "take me in" over the money i owed, but instead just ended up following me to the atm to get the money to pay him. the only shitty thing was that he charged me an extra "fee" to follow me to the atm.

point i'm making is, maybe he won't break down the door and shoot your dog.
