They won't outright ban the handguns.
First they will ban hi-cap mags. Then they will remove the Grandfather clause. Then they will drop the mag capacity to 6. Then they will restrict semi-autos. Then they will restrict revolvers. (By restrict I mean--only stored in lockers and at approved ranges {which will be very few}). Because of the Heller case, you will be allowed to keep them in the house for self defense if you pay for the $1000 license, and get a judge to sign off that you are qualified (to become qualified, you will have to take a 2 week class offered by licensed contractors for $15k+, and re-certify every year). So, no they won't ban them directly...it has ALWAYS been incremental changes, they will just come faster with the Dems in control. Fear not Barack Obama....fear the Supreme Court Judges he will place on the SCOTUS. Their legacy will be for many generations. |

When Clinton was president, noone came knocking on my door demanding my guns, and I don't think it will happen this time around. Not saying that the subliminal changes won't get pushed through, however I doubt anyone is going to come around late at night and haul anyone away to the Gulag........
We still have the second amendment on our side.......... |

Hide them my arse. When you're hiding it is when you need to be using it.

The trouble with hiding them would be that you'd never be able to take them out and shoot them thereafter... until the time that you decided armed insurrection was the thing to do... which begs the question "if not now, when?"... also, assuming you could find any ammo after your supply was exhausted anyway.
For you young guys with families, there's really nothing to do but turn in your firearms when demanded... unless you're ready to abandon your family and go out "on the run"... and hope that local armies were starting to form in official revolution, and you'd have some support... lest you're out there on your own like a hunted lone wolf... a tough road to travel, indeed. Older men, with fewer direct responsibilities since their children are now grown and on their own, well... I guess we have the luxury of choosing whether we want to ride things out peacefully and go out quietly ("the straw death", as the Norse used to call it), or taking up arms directly and starting what insurrection we could with the few quality physical years we may have left... even if it were on a sporadic "lone wolf" or "going out in a blaze of glory" basis. I fear most will face this choice as hollow men, deciding to go out not with a bang, but a whimper. ![]() /obligatory T.S. Eliot reference Quote:

It is noble to stand and fight the unjust and the tyranny... But I just have to laugh at these polls that keep coming up.
If faced with the option of shooting a fellow US citizen for doing their job as ordered by the commander in chief that WE elect into office (sort of) or obeying the law to prevent being locked up I'd say 99% of us would hand over our guns (all the registered ones anyway) and say thank you may I have a recipt. History has proven over and over again that faced with the threat of punishment, law abiding citizens will give in to illegal search and seizures every time to keep their "freedom". We've witnessed it dozens of times on this very forum, people having guns taken for no reason, people having their cars and person searched, their house searched... you name it and never once was a "foxhole" mentioned, or did a shoot out occur while the "man" was disarming them. I've said it before and will again, I'm the sole income for my household, Without me bringing in a paycheck we lose everything and are out on the street. I can't let that happen, so yes if they police came to my door and said "Sir we have a court order to take your handguns and rifles" I would let them and ask for a receipt for what they took. I'd be insanely pissed but that would be it and life would go on as normal. Now if I didn't have a wife and child to think about my answer would probably be a little different... but the fact is that I do and they take priority.

Different Dipshits same plans, nothing significant will change no matter who is in office. The nice thing about unregistered firearms is that they are unregistered. Laws and threats don't stop the BG's from getting guns.
