And that man is why so many of us trust you...Thank you for your devotion to the 2nd Amendment as well as your devotion to freedom...

I did have my fingers crossed that you were saving up for a .50BMG with a real tricked out scope and a bunch of propane tanks...ya know let us all shoot it for a while and all will be forgiven sorta thing...but your plan of honesty and integrity is prolly a better idea...

I also forgot to mention that at this point, all miscellaneous expenses (checks, envelopes, postage, etc.) related to this account are being covered by myself - as my own 'donation'. This way we can guarantee that every penny that is donated (less any cut that PayPal takes) is going directly to the specified 'cause'.

If that ever changes, I will be sure to let everyone know, but I don't anticipate that that will occur for a VERY long time - if ever.

There are current updates in both Jack and Meleanie's fundraiser threads, and I will continue to give general updates on the overall account here, as necessary.

As a newbie to the forum I don't really know what you are discussing but the way you are handling the money with open and honest accounting is to be commended. Thank you because it's honest people such as yourself who fight the good fight.

I think the money should go to a hookers and beer haloween party in DelCo.

Just sayin'.

I'd love to see more events out here in SE Pa. area (hell even Eastern Pa.) so that we could put cash in a jug and avoid any paypal fees. Plus it's easier to hide a few bucks a month from the budget nazi . . . I mean my wife if I can just drop some cash in a jug.

Whenever one of our members finds themself in a legal bind due to violation of their rights, we pull together and donate towards their legal expenses to help them out. Whether its a sheriff illegally revoking an LTCF, an illegal criminal charge for open carry, an illegal siezure of firearms, or any other unlawful act by law enforcement, we stand by each other and help our brothers and sisters out. Normally, its PA. Patriot and gnbrotz spearheading things for us and gnbrotz who handles collecting the money and writing out checks to the appropriate parties.

As various fund raising efforts come and go, I thought it might be a good idea to have a single place to note what's happening to the funds. To date, we have received just over $3800 in donations. I created a spreadsheet for each of the three current focuses, so I could accurately keep track of how to divide the growing stack of money. These sheets then balance against another set of numbers - based on what type of donation was received (cash/check/PayPal). If these two figures match, all is well. I removed all of the names, and asked a fellow-PAFOA member (who is an accountant) to look things over and offer their opinion. While these records don't meet current business accounting standards (and really aren't intended to), it seems that I was definitely on the right track.

During my own ordeal, the funds received went into my own personal account, from which they were then payed out to my attorney. As this appears it will now be an ongoing effort, showing my personal bank records with donation deposits and payouts mixed in seemed less than ideal. My accountant consultant agreed, and recommended that I open a separate bank account strictly for these funds. That way, there would be no need to black out my own personal transactions and the potential for confusion and most mistakes would be eliminated. That is exactly what I have done. I opened the account last week, and on Saturday wrote a check to shefearsnothing to cover the $1100 that has already been paid to her attorney. I have received documentation from her attorney to verify these charges.

Prior to today's hearing, I had also received a verbal quote from Jack's attorney for a flat fee. I am awaiting documentation from the attorney and will be sending a check for $1000 (the quoted amount) when it is received. I am unsure where things are headed next for Jack, but will update "his" thread as that info develops.

Just wanted to let everyone know what was going on with the funds in the meantime. If you have any questions or concerns in regards to this process, please let me know.
Gred,
Your word is good enough for me.
Just continue your work...we support you!

I agree, and would only add that some of our favorite gal members might like a male dancer, and no way I'm volunteering for that duty...buy one!

You certainly did. Like any family we have our fights with each other, but when push comes to shove we're standing shoulder to shoulder. Stick around, head out to a group shoot, dinner, picnic, and you'll learn alot and make alot of good friends.

I saw some guy that looked like Greg at the local gun shop buying up all the inventory he could. In his arms he had a box that said Kimber on it, another said Weatherby, 2 or 3 boxes that had Ruger printed on them, and a few others that were pretty large that I couldn't make out as he scurried over to his car. Just joking folks, as I'm sure you all know. A hearty thanks Greg for this service that you do for us. You are a good man and I keep looking for you as I am out and about here in Franklin County.
