Surprised no one jumped on you for that. Let me be the first; I believe you mean "thou". ![]() On topic: I will second the advice of being glad you didn't get an 'underage drinking' charge. And will also add that you shouldn't have a problem with a PICS check if the infraction was in PA.

it is a summary in pa, and really no different than a traffic ticket for all intensive purposes, pay the fine and go on..........

What would the penalty be if the offense is repeated? If someone gets caught drinking a second time before their 21st birthday, then does that become a more serious violation, with more serious repercussions (with regards to guns as well general punishment)?
Ah, wait, that sounds like I got in trouble for underage drinking. I didn't. Because I hate the taste of alcohol. It was an out-of-curiousity question.

I got an underage possession of alcohol (the bottle was still sealed) at 19. Also got arrested for "endangering a life" at 20 (I was hanging onto a car bumber in the snow). Neither came up when I applied for my LTCF. Apparently it didn't faze the FBI when I got security clearance for full access to nukes, nor the Secret Service for work in Moscow. Don't sweat it Mark. But do get a PSP Patch background check and see what comes up. You can do it online and cost $10.00. My work since I was 27 has always involved a background check, psychological testing and intensive drug tests. Now, as for the car bumper thing, you'll all laugh at me for this one...go ahead, I still do. On the way to a bar to pick up more beer for the party I copped a ride on a bumper. The cops had a good laugh at me as I ran RIGHT PAST a Philly paddywagon and grabbed the car RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. I was so focused on the bumper, I never saw the police. Learned a bit about situational awareness that night. I fessed up to a missed knife in my heavily pocketed jacket after the search so the cops treated me very nicely. Didn't see why a cop should be in trouble for missing the knife ( I knew another search would happpen at the station) because I was an idiot. The fine was 12.50. Oh yeah, I was back at the party 45 minutes later....with beer.

Back on topic... some people do dumb things when young... and if they straighten up, should be given a chance. I think back to when I was in college and hanging out with potheads, and what if cops had come busting in? They sweep everyone present up and sort it out later. Sorting out can include YOU having to clear a record that you were arrested, even though let go later when they find you were not personally in possession. It seems from what I read that these arrest records aren't just always automatically expunged. Same deal when found not guilty after being in court.

By copped a ride on a bumper, do you mean you sat on it or you were skateboarding ala "Back to the Future"?
Either way, might have been reckless but I'm sure being able to tell that story through the years was worth the 12.50.

So, can we blame me yet for Mark not coming back to get the information he needs?
I was looking forward to posting 10 parts useful follow-up with a dash of personal attack pending it was deserved. ![]() Last edited by pex : July 21st, 2008 at 11:35 AM. |
