greater pgh. gun club closed again ??? (july 15th. 2008)

i have been at the greater pittsburgh gun club this past sunday (7/13/08) and today (7/15/08) and both times the gate was closed and locked. when i called i was informed by the greeting that the club was closed due to ATF issues and will not reopen until the issues have been resolved. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON THIS TIME ????

Yeah, Really!.. What's going on there? I drove out there and found it all locked up too

Search for the thread "GPGC newsletter". I believe that it was discussed there. Someone posted a link to an article in the Observer Reporter stating that the owners where arrested for firearm and drug related crimes.

Multiple charges
7/10/08

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, assisted by McDonald police, arrested Joseph Donald "Tex" Freund, 56, owner of Greater Pittsburgh Gun Club, 920 King Road, Robinson Township, Allegheny County, and charged him with possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon on Wednesday.

Freund was taken by ATF agents for arraignment before a federal magistrate in Allegheny County, and was placed in Allegheny County Jail.

McDonald police also arrested Timothy Staub, 27, manager of the gun club, and his wife, Kimberly Staub, 27, after drugs reportedly were found at the business. The two were charged with possession, possession with intent to deliver and paraphernalia.

McDonald police Chief Mark Dorsey said the pair also were charged with endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person because they admitted to smoking drugs while their 1- and 2-year-old children were in the club where the Staubs and Freund live.

Timothy and Kimberly Staub were scheduled to be arraigned by video before District Justice Larry Hopkins at midnight Wednesday.

I'd be interested in that, too. Can somebody who knows how check into it? I hate to profit from someone else's misfortune, but it beats letting a decent range fall into the hands of antis, or, worse, environmentalists!

Most likely if this happened on the club property the ATF will confiscate the club and everything in there as well as all their personal property. They do that all the time.
