The number is at best, "I don't know". There are a certain number of people who have indicated their preference for one date or another. There is no control over voting in the poll other than a person can only vote once, so the possibility exists that some have voted who have no intention of coming.

Some will vote and intend to come, but something else will arise to change their mind.

Some have sent me money already. Even more have indicated that they are sending me money. Even in that group, there are those who most likely will not show for some reason or other.

Some will wait until the last minute, and even beyond, to write me and ask if it is too late for them to get in on it.

I run a big picnic every year at my place, and this is how it always plays out. I will get emails that say, "See you tomorrow, I can't wait!", only to have that person never show.

As the time gets closer, I will post a number of people who have paid for each day. Until then, it is just a guess.

Like EM said...you can't make everyone happy! Pick the date you want if you're organizing it, and promote the hell out of it! Good luck! I hope the event goes smooth!!

"Classy" simply refers to being fashionable, with a connotation for elegance as well. Both of these qualities are opinionated and aren't set in stone.

By saying "I'm a little classier than that," Tootie is just saying that she finds such a shirt distasteful to wear herself. I don't see that as a condemnation of anyone else who might like the same shirt. I know how it might sound like one though. It's like saying "There's no way in hell I'd drive that car, I'd like to think I'm classier than that," referring to an old beater car. People have a different sense of taste and pride. We shouldn't let that divide us into who thinks who is uncultured. Different strokes for different folks. This is an event by and for PA gun owners, not by and for (or against) women on T-shirts.

Not to get this started up again, but that is exactly how I meant it and I didn't mean to dump on her personally. I tried to tell her that but she is unwilling to listen.

Money is rolling in folks! I have notified those who checks and money orders I have received. There is not enough here yet for me to leave the country and live on a small tropical island, so don't worry.

A couple more details have come to light, and some have to do with light.

It is going to be hot. I have already mentioned that people should bring water with them to drink.

The rifle ranges are shaded, or mostly so, and have benches. If you want to shoot from a sandbag, you will need to bring it along. I think there may be some bags in boxes at the benches, but they are usually oogie (that's a technical term here in the Plinker household) and you might not want to use them.

The pistol ranges do not have much in the way of shade at all. I have a 10' x 10' easy up booth I can bring. If anyone else has something like that and the room to tote it along, it might be worthwhile, and would cause your fellow PAFOA members to love you all the more. You might want to bring a lawn chair of some sort.

Bring targets, clips, bullets, and all that other stuff! Uh, I mean magazines, cartridges, etc. Backer boards are there already, but I will see about some spares just in case they are shot to pieces and haven't been replaced yet. Staplers are good, but I have found duck tape works better.

Eye and hearing protection are required by the club! Please don't forget to bring it along with you!
