I had a a window AC when I lived in Crappymurdermore, but suprisingly no one ever broke into my place. I worried about it like crazy though. I guess the beware of dog signs and general dumpy appearance of the house?

Oh and yes I even let some not so trustworthy people in. One begged me to let her stay a night but she was way goofy and I refused , but I did let this one guy crash there a night. I had known him a while from here and there, and while he was technically homeless I never saw any signs of drug addiction ( he did tell me he smoked pot with some people though). He was a VERY unique person- lived as a street survivalist of sorts, knew wilderness skills, was tough as nails and hard muscled. He slept right on the floor too. Never tried anything with me. Never came back and broke in.

Now zoom ahead in time- I will NEVER trust anyone much again. I had a few goofy people give me a hard time and backstab me when I tried to help them, and I am wary of everyone now. Mainly these people were just mentally ill, the worst drug use was pot smoking with one of them.

It sucks when someone steals something of yours, let alone someone you have reached out to. I had all of my guns stolen once. Luckily they were recovered intact except for a few scratches. I since have bought a gun safe which is securely attached. I certainly hope they find yours.

No good deed man, no good deed is all I can say. It pisses me off to hear this crap. Heres a guy just trying to help his fellow man and he gets kicked in the ballz for his troubles. I hope you get stuff back and that clown OD's on his drug of choice.

Here's also to hoping that was sensitive enough for King 5.45.......J/K

Yes not very PC of me, but my Dad was homeless for a long time, I was homeless long enough to know the truth.

Usually there is a cash limit of a few hundred dollars and a firearms theft limit of $1000 on the standard home owners policy in PA. If the safe was damaged there would be coverage for it as well. Since the cash in the safe was not the OPs his insurance may not cover it.

Stuff like what happened to you really sucks. Makes it really hard to trust even the people who should have your trust.

A good way to secure your window is to use packing tape. Tape the seal where the window meets the frame from top to bottom on both sides. That window will not open again until the tape comes off.

Good luck, and I hope you will be lucky enough to get your property back.

I don't have Renter's insurance, quite frankly, I could never afford it... He has a good $700 worth of guns, which I won't be able to replace... But, life goes on. Unless someone gets caught with them, I'll probably never see them again. However, my local firearm enabler does have a list of what was stolen including the serial numbers, and said they would keep an eye out. They know the one gun stolen doesn't have a magazine, so anyone looking to buy one will probably have their gun taken to "make sure it fits right" and check the serial number... lol

I need a vacation... lol
