thats wrong.
Male officer in cell while she is stripped seached alone is disturbing. If male officer left the cell, and search was conducted by female LEO, i wouldn't think too much about it tho...

Again, the sheriff denies that this was a strip search, so what was the reason except for harrassment and intimidation. If they were worried about her hurting herself they could have left her in the cuffs and able to retain her dignity.

So time will tell...
I did not like the smug sick look on the news folks face. There was allot of B.S. "what a nice person" fluff in the piece that did nothing. I believe that we are watching a brief clip of a long chain of events. Sounds like this woman was in some sort of altercation with another person. The police were called by a third party. That is where it sounds like shit got outta hand. I would like to know why she was hauled in for questioning. I would also like to know what the officer who was first on the scene observed. It sounds like this woman is one of the many folks who get dragged in not understanding how the system works. I would venture a guess that she was not sober. I would also say that protocol was not followed (don't get why she was left naked for so long). Restraints are never fun to watch. I understand that they were processing her and did what they felt was necessary for her own safety and theirs. I would also wager that this whole thing could have been avoided by better on scene work. Utilize the family around to calm the victim. I really hope this whole thing didn't happen cause she swore at a officer. Also being convicted of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest does not necessarily mean that you did anything to warrant getting dragged in. It could be you were a stupid self important person who drunkenly mouthed off to a officer or it could mean that you threw a bottle at a cop. Very different circumstances. People who don't try and understand our system are inherently going to resist if they think they have done nothing wrong. -A

While I don't work in jail, and may be going out on a limb.
Is it possible that because of her statements about thinking about suicide, her clothes were removed to prevent her doing harm to herself. Maybe 6 hours was deemed necessary for her to sober up and no longer be a danger to herself and others. If that was the case then as the sheriff says this was not a strip search. As others have stated we don't have all of the facts and we are jumping to conclusions based on a media report and an interview with her husband. Remember that the clip we saw was released by the plantiff in a civil suit. We need to allow the justice system to run its course on this. If they did something wrong then they will probably lose the case in a jury trail. |

The Sheriff needs to be disciplined.

BOO FREAKING HOOOOOO, A CONVICTED, I repeat convicted ie guilty person was not treated the way they wished to be treated by the sheriff! If she followed directions, she would NOT have been "MAN HANDLED" pun intended!!!!!

Aside from the reason for the search, suicide prevention, what have you …from the video it appeared to be a strip of a noncompliant individual with in a county jail. When a use of force, for what ever reason, is the decided action then it is video taped so there is evidence of the incident …no he/she said this is what happened. So before there is a rush to judgment lets see the whole video and then decide.
