Well, I finally got the code working and upgraded all the necessary software on our web server to launch version 2.0 of the main PAFOA site (For those that haven't noticed yet, we do actually have a website besides the forums located at http://www.pafoa.org/
)These are the changes: We've added a "Safety" section for posting information on firearm safety. It's pretty basic right now but over time we hope to add to it and refine it. If anyone has any suggestions please send 'em my way. We've re-vamped our donor database. It will look exactly the same as far as viewers are concerned but the way the data was stored previously was very poor, the new backend is much better at managing that data. We've added information about non-resident permits under the law section. But most importantly we've added launched the county-by-county information database! The county database is what has been taking up most of my time for the past few weeks from the programming to Doug and I calling every single sheriff's office in the state and asking questions about permit prices, whether non-resident permits are issued, and if the county is NFA friendly. This is probably the single most useful part of our main website now. It was a lot of work but I think it will be very helpful to all PA gun owners, especially ones looking for information on getting carry permits. Now there's some gaps in the information there at the moment. There's a few counties we couldn't get in contact with or the people answering the phone didn't have the answers. If you are looking at a county page and you see an "Unknown" and you know the answer please let me know. There are a handful of counties where I was not able to ascertain whether they issued non-resident permits or not, and if the Sheriff was NFA-friendly or not. Lastly each county page has as many links as I could find for information about that county that can include:
I guess that's all for now. If you have any questions, comments, or information to add please let me know and I'll get it onto the page.

Well done Dan! I know that you put an awful lot of time into that database and I'm sure that it will pay off in spades!

Dan,
I can't even imagine how much time it must have taken to make all of this possible. I figure the least I could do is say thank you. Perhaps when Frenchy and I get finished "repairing" the leak in my roof, I can make a donation. Hope you accept blood as I won't have much else to offer when this is done. Seriously though, the info will be VERY helpful and I had wondered why there wasn't an option on the member's list to sort by "area"... now there is!
