Default Does your company prohibit carry?

My company just added a rule to the employee handbook that bans carry of firearms at work. They actually called me in to make sure that I understood the policy. It was actually funny. No one else was called in. I told them, good luck with the search!

This got me thinking. How many of you work for a company that prohibits carrying?

I have, and I still carried. People get shot in their place of work all the time.

Yes.

Firearms as well as many other types of *contraband*.

This policy applies to the employee parking lot across the street which they rent. As such, technically we're not even allowed to keep a firearm in our vehicles.

My old job in the 'hood of Philthadelphia had a no-carry policy, but I carried daily because my life was worth way more than my job.

Exactly.

I've had people say "I can't carry at work, I have too much to lose"

You can't get a paycheck if you're dead.

My company had no policy regarding firearms for the past 7 years that I was employed with them.

I missed the latest company seminar and evidently it has been added to the do not do list.

My supervisor and safety officer both know I carry. The question has never been asked of me.

I do not carry at the 2 Federal facilities where we have projects although the head of the VA police staff offered their services to fingerprint me for my Utah CCW.

Carry on,

27hand

Same here. I can't even carry a pocket knife while on the clock.
