When 15th district answered I said "Hello, I need to file a complaint about someone, on Sunday July 20th, impersonating a police officer..." at that point I was cut off, told I was being transferred to 911, and needed to ask for a supervisor and one would be sent to my location. Before I could say "I'm in Allentown!" 911 was answering.

I explained the situation to 911, and was told a supervisor would be sent to my location. I repeated that I was in Allentown, and that the incident happened on Sunday. Then I had to explain the whole thing again. Then he put me on hold. When he returned I had to explain the incident again. I was then asked for my phone number, and told someone would call me back.
Gotta love government. Of course they think impersonating an officer is an emergency.

That's where things are right now. If they don't call me back I'll try again. You can bet I am following up on this, and I will be fishing at Frankford Arsenal again soon. I'm working on getting a video camera.

Given that there is nothing to go on except the physical description, as the name given was that of the EBP lead guy, they probably aren't going to find this clown unless and until he strikes again.
truecrimson, you can borrow my video camera, its got a 30 gig hd and over 300 min of battery. let me know..

There is a very important safety issue involved as well.

If the cop impersonator were nefarious, what could have happened once the OP disarmed himself?

Thus the importance of knowing your rights, the laws and the status of your location for carry in advance (fed lands, game lands, state forest etc.).

This could have been a deadly deception.

That's a good point.... I mean, somebody, who's evil, could easily buy a badge, make a fake ID, and present themselves as an off duty LEO and demand your firearm for 'officer safety.' They could then, of course, steal your firearm, wallet, and perhaps shoot you. Now, I'm not trying to be paranoid, but that sort of situation is possible, though highly unlikely... How exactly could that be prevented against while OCing?

"I can neither confirm nor deny any affiliation with local, state or federal law enforcement or intelligence agencies at this time."
A better reply is always a question: "Who's asking?" or "Why do you ask?" etc

IMO you did the right thing True. The encounter could have gone very wrong had you become combative or turned the abuse back to the ass****. By all means follow up on the crime committed upon you and your group. You kept your head while being illegally harrassed by a wannabe. Your the kind of person I WANT carrying a gun near my children. Maybe we should get a group together and go fishing down by the Arsenal one day, carrying. I'll show you how to clean and fillet that green gunk you caught.

Thanks, but I don't know we would hand it off before I go Friday. I'm hoping to pick up my vehicle before going, and time might be an issue.

Thank you. I'll be there Friday, after filing my complaint with 15th District.

The worst part was Monica being upset. If he had at least been a real cop it wold have been somewhat expected. I've been preparing for that. I've tried to prepare her for that. But I never thought to prepare her or myself for a guy impersonating a cop.

What time and can you give me some direction once I'm behind the Arsenal? There are several spots with river access. I'll be in either a brown pick up, a black&silver astro, a blue jeep, or gold mercedes. 6', thin, full beard, partial chrome dome. And stunningly handsome with an aura of sophistication.
