Like I said earlier I have empathy for ALL parties involved.

How can you complain about JBT's?

Talk about excessive force to the extreme!

I'm sure you're just exaggerating for effect, but that punishment does NOT fit the crime. Again they haven't been found guilty in a court of law. You've already tried, convicted and excessively punished them. Where is the justice in that?

Relax.

You missed a couple bites of food and you want to ruin the lives and careers of someone else? Sounds a little JBTish to me. Do you think destroying these peoples lives will be a positive thing?

Yes it's your right to proceed with the case, but in my opinion you're no better than the cops who mistreated you.
And you wonder why so many people have a negative opinion regarding the average police officer? You are part of the "problem".

Actually when on duty I inform other deputies that OC is legal and to not interfere with someone OCing. You don't know me at all. You wouldn't get a second glance from me if you were OCing. Take your hate mongering else where.

The punishment fits the crime perfectly, IMO. There is little in this world that carries the weight of responsibility as an oath to serve the public trust. While many who take on that responsibility today mouth the words and then instantly dismiss their meaning, doing so does not relieve them of the burden. It is the same as committing Treason. It involves being placed in a position of authority over the general population, and betraying them. It gets explained away too easily today with excuses of , they had a bad day- they are submerged in filth all day-they are stressed out-they blah blah blah. While you may have a vested interest in seeing things the way you profess to, it doesn't change the reality that abuse of power by law enforcement, breaks the oath they took. Taking an oath is serious business, or should be. But ahhh, you're right, I should relax, it is done everyday by the people we trust, so I should just get used to it and accept it. So, yeah, I guess your right, taking an oath doesn't mean anything today. Oh, but wait, that would be rectified by making a ridiculously harsh example out of someone caught breaking an oath, wouldn't it? I bet if it happened, you would certainly at least think two, or three times, before abusing your authority, wouldn't you?
But, I am probably wasting my time replying, as you see things in a very different way.

He might be but I am not. Punishment fitting the crime is not any standard by which punishment should be judged - deterrent effect is. Of course lets say we have someone who is willing to betray the public trust - the most highly prized notion we have for it is the basis of every level of our government. When any one harms that it harms the relationship between every citizen and every public servant which makes everything harder to do and puts every citizen in jeopardy (at least to the amount of citizens that are under that servant's jurisdiction). This is in fact great harm and even in your system great harm should be met with such in return as punishment.

Betraying the public trust is simply sedition - acting in a way to destroy the systems and foundations of our entire government.

I'm done with you. I have tried to be civil and you attack me yet again. I repect my oath and the law. I know OC is legal and don't bother anyone carrying openly PERIOD. I furthermore try to educate other deputies of the law.
