They are refusing to release the tapes. Hummm I would say that the person that call must have blown the whole situation out of the proportion or flat out lied about what was going on. Because if it is found that the caller lied this could get very ugly in any potential future lawsuit. The police Department to cover the butts would then have to charge the caller for making a call to 911 under false pretenses. That would make people wary of calling 911 in the future when they perceived a problem. If they were wrong they could open themselves up to a lawsuit.
Example The six Imams playing games before they got on that flight in Chicago. They and CAIR were demanding the names of the people that complained so they could sue them in future discrimination lawsuits. |

I'm pretty sure the lawyers for PaPatriot will be able to get a copy of the 911 calls. Just don't expect them and other evidence to be in the public domain until all this is straighted out. Showing your cards is never a good thing. Lawyers always tell you to keep quiet. Talking about something makes their job harder.
Not only that but I thought I saw where the manager had called 911 back to cancel the complaint. If the officer knew this could have been resolved by just talking to the managers. No need to make a scene. |

What about the second near incident on 5-11-08?
Anyone have info on that and can we foia the call and the cancellation call? It was the second call of an armed person according to the logs posted earlier. I am curious if it was similar. A news organization had a snippet (dare I say clip!) of (one of?) the original call(s) regarding the oc dinner party on 5-09-08. The 5-11-08 call is not involved in the original case so should be available. |

Habeaus corpus, right to a lawyer, speedy trial, torture. Look up gitmo. Whoa, hold on. These rights apply to citizens, not POWs. Just clearing that up.

Granted, gitmo may have some really bad guys that might have some intent to do harm. But I've also read where some foreigners were released and no charges filed. Some claiming they were tortured. The problem is the disregard of law and a government that feels it can just change the laws. My bad, way off track for this thread. Delete if you will. Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Sorry! Last edited by stephpd; May 17th, 2008 at 03:50 PM. |

They are considered “enemy combatants”. Uniformed soldiers representing a national military get Geneva protections. Insurgents and terrorists are afforded no such privilege under international law as they are not "soldiers".
