Default work related CC

i was wondering what the thoughts were on this. I work for a traffic engineering company in lancaster in which i do alot of traffic counts in the lancaster, lebanon area ( i sit it my truck and record traffic for 2-3 hours at at time). That means i count traffic in some bad parts(downtown Lancaster City, Reading). Just the other day i approached my supervisor about carrying concealed while doing traffic counts because i am actually on company time while counting. He said he would rather me NOT have my firearm with me while I'm counting but said he doesn't care if it's in my truck on company property? I was baffled by what he said. I still am going to carry when I'm counting because i have a right to but does he have the right to tell me this?

An employer can make up their own rules, and they can choose to fire you if you don't follow them, even if what you're doing (CC) is legal. Personally I would have just concealed carry and not tell him, your personal safety isn't his responsibility.

deep concealment time.

i carry a p380 in a front pocket all the time.
in the shop it's no big deal at all, there's guns in tool boxs all over the place
when i'm in the field it's alittle different. most places i go have posted no gun rules. but very rarely will i let the pc in the truck. when i do, it's based mainly on what i need to do, not where i'am.

I read again and realized he works for a PRIVATE traffic company----but-------how would the "Employer rules prevail" rule work for a state/municipal government employee?? Would not State pre-emption rules apply and prevent prohibition of carry with proper permits?? Hmmmmmmmmmmm......

It sounds like he doesn't have a problem with your carrying to and from work, like some companies do that ban firearms even in personal vehicles, but that he'd rather you not carry while on the job.

As for the end of your post, an employer has the right to tell you to count cars while doing a handstand and wearing a pink bunny suit, if he wants to do so, and the right to fire you if you don't. It's both the beauty and downfall of some freedom in business in this state.

If these were his exact words, he gave his OPINION ("rather me NOT"), not a definitive NO or a written company policy!

Just CC legally.

If you have a small mouse gun such as a keltec, seacamp etc a covert carrier device will hide it noone will ever see it.

Can you post some more photos of the covert carrier in use? I saw an ad for it the other day, but their site doens't have any photos of them actually being used.

Thanks.
