Default Baghdad Range Safety?

Somehow I remember basic training differently. I'm guessing Tony would not approve.

That's not Baghdad. That was filmed at our group shoot in Pittsburgh last month!

When Lycanthrope started bump firing, I said "you think you're cool with that wannabe full auto crap, tough guy?" I started smackin' him around until he cried.
Yeah, that badass giving the orders is me.

Who leaked that clip? Club rules prohibit full auto and I'm gonna catch hell for this!

Nah. Won't be necessary. Seems he learned his lesson.

Lycanthrope,
Sorry I was so tough on you "son".

Actually there are two events in Basic Combat Training that do what I think the experience there is trying to do.

One is called Omaha Beach. First live fire exercise I took part in. You have to move about 200 yards using 3-5 second rushes, low crawl, and high crawl. You also have simulators going off. It is just propane being ignited to simulate machine gun fire and artillery. Plus the cool artillery simulators that are supposed to actually sound like incoming fire. The first time I ever saw a DS with a locked and loaded M9. (did see the range safety officers with locked and loaded pistols at the firing ranges).

Second one is called the night infiltration course. It is not live fire, but you are low crawling a good distance under live rounds. It is a very very loud and different experience.

At Ft Bragg, our live fire exercises were similiar ordeals, except the guys shooting at us were using blanks at our flanks with 60s instead of M2s. Supposed to get you used to moving and shooting under "combat conditions."

Hey, can I be the aggressor if I ever get to come to one of the shoots?
