I'm unfamiliar with IDPA, but it sounds interesting. I'm in Johnstown, too.

Stopped and talked to one of the officers at the Southfork Rifle Range. He told me that if we were willing to run the course. We could use the range. So, we have a place to do this. Step one is complete.

It has been several years since I did this, so I'm going to be rusty and I am sure it has changed. Any help that all of you can provide will make this work all the better. (Beg for help. Step two is complete) SevenNine has already offered his assitance.

Talked to Sporting Goods Discounters. They will hang up signs, pass out flyers, anything to help us out. They were sure that there would be a lot of customers that stop in there that would be interested, if, not able to help out in some way. He assured me that one of the employees there will surely show up. Step Three is done.

It was suggested that we have a meeting. Get anyone that is interested in helping or just wants to hear what is happening with this to meet someplace. If anyone knows of a good place, let me know. I know Gander Mt. has a conferance room in the back. Don't know if they would charge us to use it or not. I will have to find out.

I'm sure that at first this will be small time. But if we do get a good bit of interest, and some help, we may be able to set up a pretty good thing here. ( I just picked up my XD-9 today at Sporting Goods Discounters. So, I am itching to shoot something)

As of now. I am figuring that if we can get our first shoot in late April, early May we are doing good. That is my goal right now.

Want to check out the Range. Here is a link to their website.

For those of you wanting to know what this is. Here is a link to the Championship IDPA competition on you tube. We won't be this well set up for a while. But you never know.

This was a better link on the IDPA. More like we may set up to start. This is indoor, so we will have more room and should be able to set up more obstacles. This is a good link to get an idea of what you will be getting into though.

If Gander Mt. does not work out, my office is in Richland. It has a large waiting room, and you'd be welcome to use it as a meeting place.

I believe the Gander Mtn room is free so long as we schedule it. I can check tomorrow.

First, Did anyone find out if about Gander Mountains lobby.

If not, where is your office at in J-Town.

What time is good for everyone to try and meet.

I want to get a flyer made up and post it at Sporting Goods Discounters and Ganders about the meeting. Let people come and share ideas and maybe get some more help.

I figure a Saturday Night will work best. What do you all think? I have rotating off days, so it really don't matter to me. Let me know what works best for all of you.

I was thinking about 6PM.

Let's get this meeting set up and get this moving.

Dammit, I thought I replied to this already! Anyway, here's the info.

The lodge is pretty booked up. April 13th, 19th and 24th are wide open, the rest is pretty booked up. Tomorrow is open as well, but I doubt we'd be able to mobilize that soon.

The name of the person that handles the lodge is Christie, just call Gander Mountain and hit "0" for customer service.

The other alternative is to meet at a local eatery or whatnot, it doesn't matter to me.

I have some business trips this month and next month, so I just need an idea of when people can meet to know if I can make it. I work until about 5:00PM M-F, weekends I do a lot of stuff, but with notice, I can open up some time.

My honest opinion is that we wait on that until we have a core group of people to decide what direction we'll be taking first. Before you get additional people involved (to help plan or just help out), I think you need to know how we're going to lead this and who is responsible for what before inviting whomever walks into a gun store. Others might disagree though.

Want to reserve the 13th. I think that will give us a chance to get word out some. Say around 6:30PM. I work that night. But won't have to leave till 9PM.

I wanted to get flyers out looking for help. Sporting Goods was telling me there are guys that may be able to cut us metal pop ups. Other can get us Cardboard. ETC....

As of now. I would say this is mine and yours (nineseven), unless we can find another crazy person to run it. I will gladly accept any and all help.

Hell, I don't know what to do or where to start but I have been getting imput from guys that sound like they would help us out. I don't think we will have to much problems with people wanting to run it. They will just want to shoot and have fun. The first year may be a bit rusty. But you never know.

Someone wrote and told me they could send me a list of items we will need. I am hoping to get that soon. Since funds are pretty much non existant right now. We will have to stumble along till we get some $$ to buy good stuff.

If you like Friday the 13th (Lucky day to start) and the time. Make the resevation tomorrow. I will be sleeping as I am going to work right now. If that won't work. The 18th would work good for me too. I'm off that night.

I'll be in Tennesee on the 13th, can we make it the 19th?
