Uh, I just got email back from the guy who runs the tactical carbine "matches."
They are neither tactical, nor matches. In fact, in his words, it's an excuse for guys with Class III toys to run their subguns once a month. See, I looked through their website, and traditional rifle calibers are a no-no on the training range that they use. So, unless you have something in .32 ACP, 7.62x25, 9MM, .45 ACP, or .357 SIG with a long barrel, this ain't the event for you (or me, either).

ahem, actually, though its not tactical, and not really a match, we DO set up steels and service them, in order
 the July 7th one will be kinda slim, since its a holiday weekend. I'm not going, neither are 2 other guys that usually do. theres usually between 6-8 of us there. try the August one. as a note, its not just FA too, it just has to be a pistol caliber carbine, in manual, semi, or full auto.

Yeah i just got the email too. I might look into in the future with my .22 upper. Looks like trap at my club this sunday.

Never been to a tactical carbine course before and was looking forward to it, but I missed it. Was away for the Holiday weekend.
Was it any good? "If you do not stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them" - Don't know who, but I like it.
