Major has a spectacular aura aboutMajor has a spectacular aura about
Default IPSC, IPDA and UPSA and the Glock 34

I am a bit confused at to weather a glock 34 or 35 will be legal for the production division of any or all of these groups.

UPSA has them both on their list of approved guns.
http://www.uspsa.org/rules/production_list.php

IPSC list is as unapproved.

IDPA - not sure.

This seems a bit odd since the website says that UPSA is affiliated with the IPSC.

If it is approved I will add it to my short list. If not, I will likely go with the xd 9mm tactical.

USPSA: Production Legal.

IDPA: SSP Legal.

IPSC: I have no idea.

USPSA is the US segment of IPSC. It’s tailored to the US and most of the matches are run under the USPSA flag. Some of the boarder state and a few clubs will have a special IPSC match and will use the IPSC rule book for the match. While used often interchangeable they are different.

The Glock 34 and 35 competes in:
USPSA it’s Production legal. Use full capacity magazines and shoot the 35 Limited Major. The 34 you could use as a Limited gun but Minor power factor would hurt your score.

IDPA as Stock Service Pistol(SSP) or Enhanced Service Pistol(ESP) both are eligible for either but since they qualify for SSP I’d shoot SSP.

IPSC they are NOT approved in Production but you can shoot them in Standard Division

The XD 9MM competes in:
USPSA it’s Production legal. Use full capacity magazines and change to 40 cal Limited Major. The 9mm you could use as a Limited gun but Minor power factor would hurt your score.

IDPA as Enhanced Service Pistol(ESP) only. Springfield messed up the paper work by calling it a single action vs. safe action like the Glock. USPSA forgave them but IDPA did not.

IPSC it’s approved in Production and you can shoot them in Standard Division

Thanks guys for the input. Now I just have to make the final decision which is XD vs. Glock. I actually like the way both handle so it makes the decision harder.

Shoot some more. The grip angles are different and it will likely make up your mind eventually.
