I plan on being at both. The IDPA cause I hope to have my daughter and / or my betterhalf at this one. And I want to shoot the Classifier afterwards. The USPSA cause I have never shoot it, and want to see what it is all about.

IDPA you need around 100 rounds. Sometimes just a tad more. But rarely over 100. The USPSA will probably need 200 - 300 from what I have been reading. Lots more shooting at it.

Look forward to seeing you guys there. We should have a blast.

Other factors is tayloring your load for your firearm to meet the power factor for the division you shoot in. Also you can adjust the length of the round to make it more reliable. For example a longer round at around 1.185-1.12 works better in a 1911 or 2011. Glocks and other production class guns you need to keep the case length shorter.
Yep, once these things come into play. This is when reloading becomes the best deal in the world. Can't argue that one with you.

Hey Chunky Monkey,

I have been toying with .45 acp loads and haven't found one I totally like yet. 230 grain bullet and 5 grains hogden universal powder is similar to factory load. I have been playing with Titegroup and haven't found exactly what I want. I have read 4.6 grains is nice and easy to shoot but I have no confirmation. My last loads were light as my scale took a crap. I figure the load was approx. 3.6 grain and my XD would not cycle. I am going to try some more loads this week and I can get back to you if you are interested.

My list includes 4.0 grains and 4.5 grains.

If you beat me to it, let me know how it works.

Hope to see at Hollidaysburg!!!

The new web pages have been completed and sent to the webmaster for posting. I would expect they will be up in the next day or two.

The new shooter class and classifier are scheduled for March 15th. New shooter starts at 10am, and the classifier at 1pm. Please send me an e-mail if you are planning to attend either.

The IDPA schedule is pretty much the same as always, 3rd Saturday. The only exception to that is May where we are going to shoot the 2nd Saturday because of the 2008 PA IDPA match.

We are hoping to have some new targets and have some other ideas up our sleeves for the coming season. I am excited.

Hope to see you there!
Corey

Of course 30 seconds after the page was updated an error was noticed.

The October match is on October 18th not October 20th as listed on the site.

Thanks!

I too am still trying to find that perfect load for my Ruger P345. So far I have only used HS-6, HS-7 (now discontinued), and Unique. I haven't used Universal or Titegroup. I like a 230 Rainier RN over 5 grains of Unique. I hope to make to Hollidaysburg also but I need somethings to workthemselves out first. Hey, I did want to ask, can you retrieve brass after the shoots? As a reloader I hate to just let good brass lay.

Yes you can collect brass after the match. We treat it as a first come first serve type of thing.

We have some shooters that will pick it up and we have people that come out to the club just to pick up brass. With the price of scrap metal these days they make a killing.

Thanks!
Corey

It appears that the site is updated for USPSA now as well. Is the first match really April 15th (Tuesday)?

Nope, you found another typo.

The date is actually April 5th.

Thanks!
