Default USPSA/IPSC Orientation

Saturday March 29, 2008 - 9:30 AM
East Huntingdon Sportsmans Club, Alverton, PA
http://www.geocities.com/ehpsa/main2.html

Do you have an interest in "Action Shooting"? Maybe you've heard of IPSC or USPSA shooting and want to know more? Well, have we got a deal for you!
East Huntingdon Practical Shooters will be holding a new shooter orientation on Saturday March 29, 2008.

The orientation is free and open to anyone interested in IPSC style action shooting.

We will begin at 9:30 AM, inside the clubhouse, to go over safety issues and an introduction to action shooting rules and equipment requirements. After, we will head outside to the range to shoot 2 or 3 courses of fire - maybe 70 to 80 rounds. This is a great time to get started. There will be experienced Range Officers there to help you and the other new shooters get started. Even if you don't want to shoot just yet, come on out and attend the class to see what our sport is all about. The class is on, no matter what the weather is.

More info on USPSA: http://uspsa.org/USPSA_Videos/index.html

Here is a list of things you should bring:
1. Hearing and eye protection (required). We do have earplugs you can have.
2. Handgun – any centerfire 9mm or larger. No .22’s, single shots, or single action revolvers please.
3. Ammo - 70 to 80 rounds will get you through the orientation, but bring at least 150 to a regular match. (if you don't have this much, bring what you have)
4. Magazines - (or moonclips/speeloaders) as necessary to shoot a 16 to 32 round stage.
5. Holster - must cover trigger guard.
6. Mag Pouches- if you don't have mag pouches, a carpenters pouch, a fanny pack or even your pockets will suffice.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Ron Rodgers at rodgers.ron@comcast.net (724-309-7568)

Hope to see you on the range!!!!

Fantastic idea! I wish I could go just to show up and have some fun, meet more of "us" and shoot with you guys. I'm strictly into IDPA right now but wouldn't mind giving IPSC a try.

I'll be away (southwest desert, heh heh ) on the 29th but if you do it again, let us know!

Have fun y'all!

I would definately be interested in attending this.

Will there be any type of pre-registration requirer for the event?

There is no pre-req to this class, we hope that you have a good basis on how your gun works, but that is not necessary. Contact Ron at the info above, he can give you all of the details.
