Default Meet "Alejandro Snaider"

I want to show you guys these pics, this is my cousin. Well, not really blood related, cousin as in "friends of the family for so long that they become part of the family".

This is Alejandro Snaider. He shoots .22 and air-rifle. His suit is custom made, and the complete set costs him about $3,000. His rifle is also supposed to be one of the best, and I believe that set him back about $2,000. (These are Argentina prices!) Notice the "leash" coming from his gloved hand, they somehow hook these up and it provides support for the rifle. They always shoot open sights at 50 and 100 meters.

This is him at the "Tiro Federal Argentino (Federal Argentine Shooting Range". He is shooting at the National Finals Tournament, where he'll go on to take 2nd place and move on to the South American Tournament. I spent almost every weekend at this range with my dad when I was growing up.

Thats my man! Second from the right. He came in 1st place at the South American Tournament final held in Chile. He is a very strong candidate to represent Argentina in the upcoming Olympics that will be hosted by China.

This is Alejandro again. He is a lefty. This is an air rifle, which is supposed to be the best air rifle money can buy.. Notice the monitors infront of them so they can see their groups as they shoot.

Im not 100% sure, but I believe this is another tournament held in Australia in the year 2000. These are the finals. Im not sure how they did, but they always do good. Notice the suits and tripods for their rifles.

Fun fact: THey dont go to the store and buy ammo. They all send their barrels to the ammo manufacturer, where they'll try from different lots of their ammo and see which ones provides better groups for their individual barrels. Once they figure this out, they'll buy a batch of 15k rounds. When the last one is shot, its time to get a new barrel and a new batch of ammo.

He's been planning on coming here to visit us, most likely around October next year for my sister's wedding. I think it would be very cool to organize a shoot, so he can meet the PAFOA gang, show off a little bit with his shooting and maybe teach us a thing or two.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you know more about why they wear these suits or anything else you want to comment on, please do so!

The "leash" you mention is a shooting sling. I've never used one, but they supposedly steady your weak hand in any shooting position (prone, sitting, standing, etc.) by providing tension between the hand and the stock, I believe.

That's such a weird looking hobby to me. I happen to see a competation once, and wow. Those suits are pretty goofy.

I used to shoot .177 air rifle and crossbow at 10m which is very similar. Now everyone seems to be using Anschutz, but back then I used Feinwerkbau.
