Guys this thread is now going nowhere fast and has gone from a discussion to something more personal.
Perhaps it is time to let this one cool off before replying. |

OTOH it now sounds like everyone is getting what he wants, in terms of ranges. So we can all part ways on this thread?

Pardon me . . . I can see merits to both sides of this issue. I don't agree with them all, but I can see merits.
But that's not what I came into the discussion for. I came to offer a suggestion for another venue. West Shore Sportsmen's Association will allow the shooter to draw from the holster, move, and do all that other happy-horse____ without added fees, extra classes, etc. The outdoor ranges, pistol pits, and the shoothouses are run hot, and allow for movement. Only the indoor range has the requirement that to perform this sort of shooting the member must have some sort of competency that would be gained by shooting with a group like the IDPA or NTI Team. Yes, WSSA is the home of the NTI. The NTI Team meets every third Saturday, and does the kind of shooting that MarcS is looking for. Unfortunately I noticed he's been banned, and I imagine this thread had some part to play in that. MarcS, if you revisit the thread, just give me a call. I'm the President of WSSA and can talk to you about what you're looking to do. http://www.westshoresportsmen.org/ Member fees are $55.00 for individual, $70.00 for family, and for you guys outside our 3 county area its $40.00 for a non-voting Guest membership. Initiation fees are $10.00. I think, from what it is the few of you posting described as your shooting style and your goals in training, WSSA has what you're looking for. It's maybe a 90 minute drive from King of Prussia if I recall from our last shopping trip out your way. You won't find better facilities for action pistol shooting, or a better group or fellows committed to the study of the craft than those who frequent the NTI group. Guys drive as far away as New York and Northern Virginia to shoot with us. And the annual NTI event sees professional trainers, military shooters, and armed citizens come out from literally across the globe to test themselves at the event.
