BTW, welcome to IDPA - it's a great shooting sport, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. BTW, here's a good forum to discuss IDPA. http://p075.ezboard.com/bidpaforum |

After further research, and visiting the IDPA forum, it is pretty much confirmed that the Nationals are coming to the Allentown area. The same area as the Keystone Cup. The MD of the Keystone Cup is now the MD for nationals.

A sanctioned match are just like monthly club matches with a couple of differences:
--Usually costs more to participate in sanctioned matches --More shooters participate, usually around 150--200 shooters --Prizes and giveaways are pretty normal at a sanctioned match --Higher round counts with more complicated stages Probably the biggest difference is that all IDPA rules and regulations are enforced. It has been my experience that SOME club level matches don't enforce all the rules and regulations. They do this for a couple of reasons, but I think the biggest one is to encourage new shooters to participate without worrying about getting caught up with some of the game specific rules. Either match will make safety the top priority. As Rita (dragonlibra), posted earlier IDPA keeps a list of all sanctioned matches on their website and that list is always being updated as more matches are finalized. If you have never been to a match, then find one in your area and go participate. Most match directors welcome and encourage new safe shooters to their matches. --Corey
