Question Might be in Lock Haven for a few days

As the title states, I might be in Lock Haven for a few days on business. What is the area like, I've never been there. Local shops for firearms/fishing? Any suggestions on things to do? Anything to keep someone occupied at night, interesting sights, shops etc?

Not a whole lot exciting to do in Lock Haven. It is a small college town. For variety, you would be better off driving the half hour to Williamsport or State College.

As far as gun shops, the closest that I can think of would be Miller's Gun Shop in Mill Hall. It sits right along Rt 64 between Mill Hall and Lamar. Nice shop ran by some nice folks.

As for night life, all depends on what you want to do. Being a college town, there are a few bars. One dance type place. One movie theater with 3 screens. Not much shopping around other than the Wal-mart. Although just a short drive down the road to Woolrich to the Woolrich factory outlet store would be worth checking out.

Let me know specifically what you are looking for and maybe I can help.

The swimming in the Susquehanna is good on the road that goes to Farrandsville.

If you have a *real* 4x4, I can show you a nice route up to Hyner View State Park.

Lock Haven has a decent movie theater.

As stated before, Miller's gun shop is worth a look-see. there's also supposed to be a good gun shop in Jersey Shore, but I forgot its name.

The Piper aviation museum is at the Lock haven airport, practically downtown.

Rte 120 is a scenic drive up to Renovo. Get lunch at "Yesterdays" in Renovo.

Restless Oaks is a decent restaurant in McElhatten. Go there after shopping at Woolrich.

There are 2 gun shops in Jersey Shore. One is Nationals Sporting Goods. The other is Graham's Sporting Goods. Grahams is only open at night though.
