Yes. Denny is running I believe. He's CCW friendly AND, he signed off on my paperwork for my NFA toys. I can't complain about that.
I already know were my vote is going. But I am interested in any info on the other candidates. Particularly their stance on CCW Permits and Title II firearms. |

Nau will be getting my vote, as far as I know he has been doing great job. I like his politics (mostly)

I'd agree that Nau is firearm-friendly. Centre County is referred to by many as THE place to request a non-resident PA CCW license.

While I agree that Sheirff Nau has be very easy to deal with reguarding the permits and getting NFA papers signed off I feel there is more our sheriff dept could be doing that moving prisioners back and fourth, watching doors and serving warrants.
There are 4 other candidates however I dont know any of their names except one who is Dough Kalmbach. I am in no way affiliated with his campagne but I have known him for awhile and hes a stand up guy, he even has the support of all of the centre county police chiefs (that says a lot if you ask me). He is in full support of the RKBA and NFA items. Heres his website, take a look. Sometimes it pays to be an informed voter and not go with the old stand-by. http://mysite.verizon.net/vzerudyp/ ok rant off. |

Thanks for the info, and yes, I'll check the website out. I agree that it pays to be an informed voter. Problem is, I can't find any info on the other candidates. I figured it'd help people out if more info could be provided.

Isn't that all they are charged to do? I'm pretty sure at least that speed limit enforcement, etc, is out of their jurisdiction.

Honestly I'm not 100% sure. I've heard varrying reports about what they can and cant do and I think it is based on how much the sheriff wants to get involved.

I don't know of any good reason not to re-elect old Denny Nau. You would be hard pressed to find a more pro gun sherriff and he seems to do a good job.
