First time out to the scotia range today. Several people there. My wife was extremely nervous and didnt even want to shoot. I basically showed her how to load and use a revolver and let her fire one shot. That was enough for her. She didnt want to fire anymore. I really just want her to know how to use in case of an emergency. I know that she cant aim it, but at least its not as foreign to her.

You should always let better half start with 22 something.
And if they say they don't want to shoot, you should back off.
Trick is to make then want to go shooting with you.

I manage this with my GF by let her believe that there are this hot chick comes to range that hits on me.

She sure wanted to go along next time...

I agree that maybe you should start with something a little smaller. A .22 is a great way to start. The recoil and noise of some of the larger calibers can be very intimidating to those that have never shot before. Start them out slow and small. Eventually they will work their way into it.

I agree. If I had a .22, I would have definitely had her use it. She is very, very anti gun so I think her shooting one round and coming out was a good first step. She learned how to load the gun and hold it. Hopefully next time will go much better. My dad has a .22 that I can probably borrow.
