Default Are there any ranges hiring in the area?

I am 28 years old and looking to find a job at a local range. I have spent 4 years with the marine corp infantry, and am currently in the national guard infantry. I would prefer a job at a range, but any gun shop will do.

Do not Work for Dan Carr. That is the best advice I can give anyone. Espcially former Military members. PM and I can give you the full story.
No one ever wonders why they are always hiring.....

As a CURRENT ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY member, I worked for Dan for 2 years (20-35 hours a week) and LOVED every minute of it!!!! As a matter of fact, SEVERAL ACTIVE DUTY AND RETIRED MILITARY work there, and enjoy it.

The Best Advice is to try it for yourself.

P.SUTER and his OPINIONS are his own. Maybe he should post why he no longer is employed there, and QUIT HIDING IN THE SHADOWS AND WHISPERING!

This sounds like the making of a very interesting story.

yea ive always seen their hiring sign.....honestly ive been there a few times and the people upstairs (dont know their names) weren't too helpful, not because they didnt want to help, but it seemed they lacked info on the products they sold. That being said, i remember an older lady coming up to the counter and "drilling" one of the guys that works there for telling the customer the wrong info on a firearm that was placed on consignment with them. i personally thought it was unprofessional, since she pulled him away from trying to help me and allowed me to listen....kinda weird...i wouldnt want to work for somebody like that...

Do you have to have an FFL just to work in a gun shop? I actually wouldn't have a problem with product knowledge, least not when it comes to handguns.

Maybe I should just try to get one... frankly I've never had a practical use for one. Isn't it like $200 a year? Clearly, I have no clue involved in what it takes to get an FFL LOL.

Remember, there are quite a few areas to cover in Target World.

Skeet Shotguns
Trap Shotguns
Clay Shotguns
Waterfowling Shotguns
Pistol reloading
rifle reloading
muzzleloading
archery
crossbows

and of course pistols and rifles. During my 2 year tenure, I learned more than I ever thought I could on just unique pistols and rifles (difference between screws on revolvers and what shotguns work best where) than I thought I knew. 90% of the time, the customer knew more about a particular firearm than I did.
To expect every person in a gun shop to know everything about every firearm and archery product is a bit of a stretch.

If I didn't know, I would let you I didn't know, and ask, so we both could be educated. I still referred archery customers to other sales guys because I wasn't the best person in that area.

If you have a problem with a sales associate, confront the sales associate, manager or the owner. an email to info@targetworldinc.com about suggestions or complaints can help resolve issues in an expedient manner if you are not comfortable talking face to face.

Well maybe you can tell me. I was told when i came back from a deployment that there was no room in the schedule, but, or course there was still the Now Hiring sign out there. So you tell me, Why am I not working there anymore? By the way you can ask Brian O'Pella what he said to me.
