Default Where do you shoot?

It doesn't look like i'll be able to join any of those private clubs unless I know someone who is already a member. Where do you guys in Berks county shoot? Are there any good public places (not the gun gallery in mt. penn)?

Try the MUhlenberg Shooting Association. Considering that you're close to Albright, you are pretty close to the range (which is by Carpenter Steel). Their website is: www.muhlshooting.org

I'm a member at Fleetwood Fish & Game, membership is $10 a year and you don't need a reference.

If you are looking for a place with alot of events, though, look elsewhere.

Topton Gun Club is a pretty big place, with events, but costs like $50 the first year and $20 a year after that.

Where is Fleetwood Fish & Game? I couldn't find any info about it the net.

I'm not interested in events - just want a place to shoot.

If you are familiar with Fleetwood, it is down the main street (known as Blandon-Fleetwood road then Fleetwood-Lyons road IIRC) towards Lyons/Topton;

Then after you exit the town there is a long sweeping S-turn to the left, and then right - after the road straightens you turn right at the next road, follow the sign for 'Dryville', there is a small sign for the range as well.

I just got the 'newsletter' they send out, it has gone up to $15 a year and now you have to actually go TO the club instead of local businesses to get your application. I think they have to be having a meeting or shoot to get the form.

side note on fleetwood........whenever i go there the people are nice and i always seem to run into leos shooting, and its a fun time, i like the fact that there are not alot of people just throwing lead with no regard.....today i was there with my wife and 3 leos were there and they were very respectful, we talked guns, made sure we were ok when they went up to shoot.....i still havent had a bad time there....

Default Oley Fish and Game Assoc

Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays various days of the week. Mon, Tues, Weds, forget which day is what. Also a 50 Yard pistol/rifle range and 100 yard rifle. Rifle not open every day of week , so I just use realllly small targets on the 50 yd for rifle. Half way between Oley and eastern side of Reading. About 5 minutes from Danile Boone Rod and Gun. Only $20 a year and an obligatory NRA membership. Which if you sign up through them they get a cut to help fund the club. ALL of the above clubs are "public" as far as I know. All you would have to do is find someone from the club or look on the door or in phonebook and call to inquire about membership.
